“I was pleasantly impressed to discover at the International Eventing Competition that took place during the Paris Olympics several horse-rider couples who have participated in various equestrian events that we have organized over the years. Some of them we will see again this year in Floresști performing in the CCI 4* International Eventing Competition. We already expect to have participants from Austria, Bulgaria, Finland and Great Britain.
When it comes to sports performance, the 9th edition is the first time that we manage to organize the CCI 4* International Eventing Competition in a year that is not a pre-olympic year and we aim to keep this level. In addition, during the Karpatia Horse Show we will organize the National Eventing Competition (2* and novice) finals ” says Mihnea Vîrgolici, Event Director. ” says Mihnea Vîrgolici, Event Director.
“A competition of this caliber is a novelty for Romania today and opens up new experiences. The event has grown in popularity with each edition, and last year we had over 15,000 visitors. It has become a ‘must-visit’ on the agenda of many people from Bucharest, Brașov, Ploiești, as well as many French, English, and other foreigners in Romania and beyond,” said Irina Bossy Ghica, owner of the Cantacuzino Estate in Florești, Prahova.
“It’s great to see so many of my friends from France, England, and Germany come back every year for the Karpatia Horse Show. We’ve even had visits from the French ambassadors! It shows that our event is as good as any you’d find in a country with a long history of horse riding,” adds Bossy Ghica.
Three days filled with competitions, shows, demonstrations, and live music
Each day will feature one of the three events – dressage, cross-country and show jumping -, part of the International Eventing Competition, along with a variety of other exciting activities, shows, and live music. Attendees can expect a unique experience each day.

Joining us this year is none other than Spencer Sturmey, one of the world’s most respected sports commentators and the voice behind Eurosport’s coverage of equestrian sports at the Olympic Games. A highly experienced 5* rider himself, Sturmey will also be hosting a training session for riders prior to the start of the ninth edition of the Karpatia Horse Show, alongside Cristina Călin, a rider with vast experience in dressage, perfected at the French Equestrian Federation’s elite school, Cadre Noir, and subsequently in Great Britain and Dubai, before returning to Europe to win the Balkan Dressage Championship.”
Both will be hosting an open riding lesson for advanced horse-rider pairs, as well as a classical dressage masterclass.
